The August labor market statistics for the region reflected a rate of 5.5%, an increase from the July rate (5.1%). The regional unemployment rate is slightly higher than the rate recorded a year ago (5.4%).
Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Ty Cauthen as its new Executive Director, effective June 2, 2025. With a strong background in education and rural workforce development, Dr. Cauthen brings a vision of innovation, equity, and collaboration to the region.
